Poverty Reduction Based on China’s Experience Discussed

Representatives of leading academic institutions of the People’s Republic of China — Professor Wang Xiaolin of Fudan University and Professor Zhang Xi of Beijing Normal University — presented the results of research conducted in Uzbekistan in 2025 on poverty reduction during a meeting held at the Association of Mahallas of Uzbekistan.

The meeting was attended by Raima Shirinova, Vice-Rector of The Academy of Public Policy and Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of several ministries and government agencies.

During the dialogue, the participants discussed the scientific analysis of China’s experience in poverty reduction and the possibilities of applying this experience within Uzbekistan’s local governance system.

As a result of the meeting, the parties reached an agreement to organize an international conference titled “The Best Government — The Best Governance” in May this year in cooperation with the Association of Mahallas of Uzbekistan, The Academy of Public Policy and Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the National University of Uzbekistan. The sides also expressed their readiness to develop cooperation in joint research and professional training programs.
