The Higher School of Postgraduate Education and Research of the Academy of Public Policy and Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan organized a practical seminar for faculty members, researchers, and trainees dedicated to the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) grant system and its role in international scientific cooperation.
The seminar was conducted by Nilufar Tukhboyeva, Associate Professor at Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent and Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in Germany.
During the seminar, participants received detailed information on the specific features of the DFG grant system, mechanisms for financing scientific research in Germany, opportunities for participation in international research projects, and approaches to establishing effective scientific cooperation.
In particular, it was emphasized that DFG is one of Germany’s largest independent scientific funding organizations specializing mainly in supporting fundamental research. Participants were also introduced to programs such as Individual Research Grants, Collaborative Research Centres (CRC), and Research Training Groups (RTG), which provide opportunities to implement long-term research projects, establish scientific schools, and form international research consortia.
At the end of the seminar, participants received recommendations on preparing applications for international grants, including developing clear project concepts, collaborating with strong scientific partners, and substantiating the practical and academic significance of research outcomes.
The seminar serves to expand international scientific cooperation, strengthen the Academy’s research capacity, and increase researchers’ participation in international grant programs.
