Meeting with the Hanns Seidel Foundation

Today, on August 26, the Rector of the Academy of Public Policy and Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Jasur Salikhov, held a meeting with Mr. Konstantin Blaschke, Regional Director of the Hanns Seidel Foundation for Central Asia. During the meeting, the parties reviewed the outcomes of bilateral cooperation. In particular, the initial results of the “School of Preparation for Hokims” program were highly evaluated. This joint initiative was launched in 2024 at the initiative of the leaders of Uzbekistan and Germany. Within the framework of the program, 40 managerial personnel have been trained. Several graduates have been appointed to senior positions, and one was awarded the Order of Friendship by a Presidential Decree. In addition, 21 graduates completed internships in Germany, where they studied advanced German practices in local governance. The parties acknowledged the effectiveness of the program and exchanged views on its institutionalization and further development in line with the objectives defined in Presidential Decree PD–78. At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed their readiness to further strengthen cooperation between the Academy and the Hanns Seidel Foundation.
