A ceremonial opening of the "Women Leaders" Professional Retraining Programme was held at the Academy of Public Policy and Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Implemented pursuant to the relevant Decree PF-78 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Programme aims to prepare women leaders with modern public management competencies, strategic thinking, initiative, and a strong sense of responsibility, while further expanding their participation in public administration.

In his address, Rector of the Academy J. Salikhov emphasized that the modern knowledge and practical skills to be acquired through the Programme, together with the opportunity to learn from international best practices, would provide a solid foundation for the participants' future professional activities. He also expressed confidence that the participants would develop into capable leaders who will play an active role in implementing the reforms of the New Uzbekistan and make a meaningful contribution to the country's continued development.

The event featured comprehensive discussions on the role and contribution of women leaders in public administration, the significant responsibilities entrusted to them, and the evolving requirements for leadership in today's public administration system. Particular attention was given to the development of strategic thinking, evidence-based and systemic decision-making, leadership competencies, the effective use of digital technologies, the implementation of innovative approaches, and the importance of continuous professional development and continuous learning.

 

Graduates of the "Women Leaders" Programme also addressed the audience, sharing their views on the Programme's role in enhancing the professional capacity of women leaders, strengthening their leadership competencies, and expanding their knowledge and practical experience in the field of public administration. They also shared the experience they had gained through the Programme and engaged in an open exchange of views with the participants.


The event brought together representatives of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Agency for Governance Efficiency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, Committee of Family and Women of the Republic of Uzbekistan, El-Yurt Umidi Foundation, women researchers developing innovative projects at higher education institutions, talented young women, as well as graduates of previous groups and participants of the "Women Leaders" Professional Retraining Programme.
